Summer Reading List
The purpose of the PWCS Summer Reading Program is to encourage students to enjoy quality literature and to continue developing their independent reading skills. Student participation in the program is voluntary. Students who choose to participate in the program are required to complete a minimum number of readings over the summer.
Students in Grades 9 -12 who participate will complete a list of books read. The documentation is to include the name of the author, the title of the book, and an explanation of the topic or plot of the book, and a parent or guardian statement that the student has completed the reading. For students who participate in Prince William County Public Library's Summer Reading Program, the Public Library documentation is also acceptable. Students who complete two books will receive two percentage points added to their final nine weeks' grade in the affected marking period. Completion of the summer reading will be recorded for students by the end of the second week of school.

Courses for the 2009-1010 School Year
On May 28, all students in grades 9-11 will receive a copy of their course requests for the 2009-2010 school year. Click here to read the letter that accompanied these requests. All students must review their requests and make changes before June 19, 2009. There will be no schedule changes processed after this date.
New Student Orientation
We would like to extend an invitation to our rising ninth graders and new students to attend our new student orientation on Thursday, August 27th from 8:00 am -12:00 am at WSHS. Our intent is to provide students with all of the necessary information to help make the start of their school year as stress free and successful as possible. Students will be introduced to staff members, given a tour of the school, and allowed to seek out and sign up for activities to participate in. A program will also be conducted for parents/guardians in the school auditorium. There is more information to come. We look forward to seeing you there!
News About School Fusion and EduLink!
For the next academic year, all users will have just a single login for access to both School Fusion and EduLink. Parents will only need a single username and password to access either their “SchoolFusion” or “EduLink” account, even if they have children at different schools. To prepare for this upgrade, all student and parent accounts will be deleted after June 17th. For more information, click the links below.
